After finishingmedical school and training in Medicine specialty and Cardiology subspecialty in Iran, Dr. Enzevaei immigrated to Canada andentered the recertification process. She got accepted into an Internal Medicine residency at Queen’s University followed by the completion of two fellowships in General Internal Medicine and Critical Care Medicine at Queens’ University and the University of Western Ontario. Dr. Enzevaei is currently a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) in Internal Medicine and Critical Care Medicine. Then she completed additional training in Adult Echocardiography and wrote for the American Board of Echocardiography. Since continuing medical education is her passion, later on, she became more interested in Obesity Medicine and after completing of additional training, wrote the American Board of Obesity Medicine. Dr. Enzevaei is a diplomate in the American Board of Internal Medicine and Critical Care Medicine and currently is working at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket, Ontario.
Dr. Afshan Zahedi
Dr. Afshan Zahedi completed a degree in Biomedical Engineering in Ohio, USA and then her medical degree from the University of Toronto followed by Internal Medicine and Endocrinology residency at the University of Toronto. She is an Associate Professor at Faculty of Medicine at University of Toronto and the Fellowship Director in Division of Endocrinology. Dr. Zahedi is the Medical Director of Thyroid Program at Women’s College Hospital and staff endocrinologist at the Scarborough Health Network. Her clinical focus includes Thyroid and Parathyroid disorders and Endocrine diseases in pregnancy. Her research focuses on improving efficiency in health care delivery, education, diabetes in elderly and long-term care and Thyroid cancer. She has been a member of CIMA since it inception and held the Chair position previously for eight years.
Dr.Nazemi has been a practicing Ophthalmologist in Ontario since 2008. She did an ophthalmology residency and fellowship at the University of Toronto.She is currently working and teaching at Mount Sinai Hospital as an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology.Also as a staff ophthalmologist at William Osler Health Center in Brampton Ontario.Dr.Nazemi is a bored certified Ophthalmologist in Iran as well.
Dr. Fatereh Akhlaghi is a Family physician working in GTA since 2007. She graduated from the Tehran university of medical sciences in Iran and shortly after graduation, she moved to Canada. She went through a family practice residency at the University of Western Ontario.AS health professionals and as immigrants, our strength is in our unity as a community. Networking through the CIMA organization enables doctors of similar backgrounds to have fruitful educational and social gatherings.
Dr. Mahnaz Mahmoodi
Dr. Mahnaz Mahmoodi completed her Medical Degree at Ahvaz University of Medical Sciences then she completed her residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology in the same University and started working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Ahvaz University.
After immigration to Canada, she graduated as a Family Physician at the University of Western Ontario and then completed a Diploma in Practical Dermatology at Cardiff University.
Mahnaz is a lecturer at the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Toronto. Since joining Southlake Hospital in 2011, Mahnaz has acted as a Physician Leader at Southlake Family Health clinic in multiple capacities including Chair of the Southlake Family Medicine Teaching Unit and member of the Business Committee.
Dr. Mahnaz Mahmoodi is a GP Focused on Dermatology with experience in all types of skin cancer including Melanoma. She has been working at Simco Derm Medical and Surgical Dermatology center.
Mahnaz loves traveling and Photography. She enjoys taking photos of castles and old palaces while she is on vacation.
She is a big fan of cozy coffee shops, always looking for the best coffee in every place that she is visiting.
